The funeral service for George W. Middleditch,84, formerly of Mountville, PA, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 10,2011, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St., Barrington. Inurnment will be in the Long Island National Cemetery, New York.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m., Tuesday, August 9,2011, at the funeral home.
Mr. Middleditch served in the US Navy during WWII, was a long-term employee of the Equitable Life Insurance Company of New York, a member of the Pennsylvania National Republican Committee, and was a councilman in the borough of Mountville.
Survivors include his daughter, Pamela (Mike) Sheldrick of Morristown, NJ; son, Kevin (Elizabeth Todd) Middleditch of Tower Lakes; grandchildren, Rachael (Joseph) Magliano of Geneva, and Alexandra and Stuart George Middleditch of Tower Lakes; and great-grandchildren, Cella and Nicholas Magliano.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (nee Koch); brother, John W. Middleditch; and special friend, Betty Boyle of York, PA.
