Georgianna Mae Newman (nee Lutz), 92, of Crystal Lake, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Centegra Hospital, McHenry.

Mrs. Newman was born May 27, 1921, in Indianapolis, IN to the late George and Vivian (nee Beekman) Lutz and was one of eight children. She married Gerald Newman on December 23, 1942 in Indianapolis.

Prior to moving to Crystal Lake, Mrs. Newman was a 58-year resident of Plainfield, IN. She was a 1939 graduate of Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, and was involved with the alumni association. Mrs. Newman retired in 1989 from Naval Avionics of Indianapolis, where she was a quality control inspector. She was a member of the Bridgeport Order of the Eastern Star and the Speedway Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1587 Ladies Auxiliary in Indiana.

Mrs. Newman was a loving wife, mom, grandma, and GiGi.

Survivors include her children, Jerry (Pamela) Newman of Crystal Lake and Pamela (Stephen) Fritch of Mandeville, LA; grandchildren, Kristen Miller and Christopher (Kristina) and Kyle Newman; great-granddaughters, Hannah and Hailey Miller; and sister-in-law, Bertha Lutz of Indianapolis.

In addition to her parents and seven brothers and sisters, Mrs. Newman was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald.

The visitation will be Friday, July 19, from 3 p.m. until the time of the eulogy service at 7 p.m., at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Entombment will be private in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
