Gerald L. Eschweiler

Gerald Lee Eschweiler was born August 11, 1960 in Elma, Iowa to Gerald Roy and Elaine Eschweiler.  He passed away unexpectedly August 25, 2021.

Jerry graduated from Riceville High School in Riceville, IA; and received a degree in computer engineering from Iowa State University in 1982; and his MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management in 1986.  Jerry loved all sports including golf, Chicago sports, and especially the Iowa State Cyclones.  He loved driving his convertible around town, usually on his way to the golf course.  Jerry served on the Board of Elders at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for many years.

Jerry was very proud of his 3 boys and enjoyed watching and coaching their football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and track events.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 27 years, Melissa; children, Christopher of Vancouver, WA, Andrew, of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Michael of Prairie Grove, IL; brothers, Gregg (Judy) Eschweiler or Marion, IA, and Doug (Vic) Eschweiler of Waverly, IA; mother and father-in-law, Paula and Chris Ohland of Beaverton, OR; sister in law, Laura (Pat) Maginnis of Tigard, OR; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be 3-9pm Tuesday, August 31 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176), Crystal Lake.  The funeral service will be at 10:30am, Wednesday, September 1st at the funeral home.  Interment will be private.

Memorial donations will be accepted by the family to establish a memorial for Jerry at his favorite golf course.
