Gerald O'Neill

Gerald Thomas "Jerry” O’Neill,80, of Barrington, Illinois, passed away on, Saturday, February 4,2012, in Lincolnshire, Illinois.

He was born on November 12,1931, to Gerald and Margaret O’Neill, in Chicago, Illinois.

Throughout Jerry’s younger years, he devoted his time to his professional life and family. Jerry also valued the benefits of all levels of education. After retirement, he was an active crop farmer in all aspects of the business. He was an avid genealogist, and traveled all over the world. He always enjoyed Chicago sports teams, especially the Cubs, and the Bulls.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Jane Kannell-O’Neill; children, Peggy (Larry) Brizgis, Anne (Joe) Miller, Tim (Monique) O’Neill, Mary O’Neill (Carl Erickson), Kathy (Paul) Paese, Christopher (fiancée Allison Stabinsky) O’Neill, and Amanda O’Neill; grandchildren, Andrew (Samantha) Brizgis, Laura Brizgis, Patrick Miller, Chelsea O’Neill, Quinn O’Neill, Abigail O’Neill, Caroline Erickson, Stefan Erickson, Benjamin Paese and Daniel Paese; sister, Janet Foy; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Bridget, first wife JoAnn M. O’Neill, and his parents.

Visitation will be held from 5-8p.m., Wednesday, February 8,2012, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street (Lake Cook Rd), Barrington, IL 60010.

Funeral Service will be held at 10a.m., Thursday, February 9,2012, the Presbyterian Church of Barrington, 6 Brinker Road, Barrington Hills, IL 60010.

Burial will be held privately at Woodside Cemetery, Westminster MA.
