Gerard J. Zeitner

Gerard J. “Jerry” Zeitner was born on July 5, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to Bart and Anna Marie (Freisinger) Zeitner and passed away on December 11, 2024 in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Jerry, age 82, beloved husband and best friend of Nancy for 61 years; loving father of Joanne (Jim) O’Hern, Jerry (Ann) Zeitner, Christine (Christopher) Glomski and Greg (Beth) Zeitner; devoted grandfather of Ryan (Marisa) O’Hern, Meghan O’Hern, Kaitlin O’Hern, Andrew Zeitner, Matthew Zeitner, Alex (Jessica) Glomski, Nick Glomski, Becky (Cody) Brown, Jake Zeitner, Maddie Zeitner and Charlie Zeitner; and dear brother of Robert and Sister Anna Marie. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia. 

Jerry was a kind and generous man with a profound sense of humor that drew people to him. He was an avid biker and loved to go long distances, meeting up with people along the way to have a chat. During his lifetime he worked as a computer manager and then owned a travel agency where he was able to benefit by travel to his favorite places, Hawaii, Aruba and Mexico.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake. Prayers will be held the following day, Monday, December 16, at 9:30 a.m. with visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with procession to follow to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, for the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
