Biography Gerda Johanne Mathiasen, 95, of Crystal Lake, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 in Crystal Lake.
She was born on December 22, 1919 to Johannes and Johanne Mathiasen in Chicago.
Gerda was born one of three living triplets on December 22, 1919. She was a devout member of the Salvation Army. During her lifetime she was a pediatric nurse and cook at the Salvation Army Training School in Chicago.
Gerda is survived by her loving nephews, Paul Olsen, Bill Olsen and Bob Olsen; niece, Johanne (George) Frost; great nephew, George Frost; and great niece, Anne Frost.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and her three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5-7pm, Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Burial will be held privately at Mt. Emblem.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 290 W. Crystal Lake Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
