Giuseppe Guagliardo

Giuseppe Guagliardo, age 94, of Lake Zurich, IL , passed away peacefully on April 27, 2021.  He was born on January 29, 1927 in Altavilla Milicia, Sicily.  Arriving in Chicago in 1954 with his bride Concetta.  He worked for the City of Chicago Streets and Sanitation and retired in 1993 after 20 years.

Giuseppe was an avid gardener who enjoyed being outside in the sunshine in his garden, most of all among his tomato plants. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed every opportunity to play Bocce Balls at every family gathering.

Giuseppe will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 67 years, Concetta; Patricia (Thomas) Brown (Guagliardo) and Josie Fongaro (Guagliardo); his grandchildren, Anna (Michael) Impastato, Anthony Fongaro, Robert (Jaclyn) Brown, Christina Fongaro; and great-grandchildren, Rocco Impastato, Rosie Mae Brown, Dottie Brown and Dominic Impastato.

He was preceded in death by his parents Nicolo and Pietrina Guagliardo and his siblings, Gaetano, Salvatore, Josephine and Elisabetta.  Loving brother to his sister, Angelina Guagliardo.

A visitation for Giuseppe will be held from 10:00 am until prayers at 1:00 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047 before processing to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 135 S. Buesching Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047 for Mass at 1:30 pm. Entombment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove.
