Gladys Aberle

Gladys “Ginnie” Aberle, of Crystal Lake, died, Thursday, January 30, 2014, at The Lexington in Lake Zurich.

She was born on January 21, 1931, to Leif and Jenny (nee Johannsen) Tollefsen in Evanston, IL.

Ginnie graduated from Evanston High School and Northwestern University. In 1957 she married Henry Miller, but was widowed in 1961.

Ginnie is survived by her daughters, Valarie Werderitch of Crystal Lake, Stephanie Maioriello of Wauconda, and Hallie (Ken) Chandler of Johnsburg; grandchildren, Christopher Werderitch of Crested Butte, CO, Jillian (Michael) Kivland of Crystal Lake, Jeremy Werderitch of Crystal Lake, Angelene Maioriello of Crystal Lake, and Gina Maioriello of Wauconda; great grandson, Michael Louis Kivland; and very special, lifelong friends from Evanston.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A visitation for Ginnie will be held Thursday, February 6th from 4 p.m. until the time of prayer service at 8 p.m., at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 East Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176), Crystal Lake. A private burial will be held at Windridge Memorial Park and Nature Sanctuary, Cary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ginnie’s name to JourneyCare Hospice, Veterans Administration of McHenry County, a veteran organization of your choice, or Senior Care Volunteer Network of McHenry County.
