Gladys H. (Martinez) Vega

Gladys H. Vega passed away June 16, 2022 in Huntley.  She was born June 8, 1946 in Lima, Peru to Augusto and Margaret Martinez.

Gladys is survived by her husband of 53 years, Cesar A Vega; sons, Cesar A.R. Vega Jr of Crystal Lake, Illinois and Fernando A. (Stephanie) Vega of Lakewood Ranch, Florida; grandchildren, Sophia, Daniel and Nicholas Vega, and Joseph Alexander and Aubrie Leigh Conyers; and siblings, Javier, Elena, Hernan, Bibianna, and Patricia Velasquez and Augusto, Jose Enrique, and Maritza Martinez.

Gladys spent many years helping raise Anna, Julia, and Mark. She loved them unconditionally like her own children. She was skilled at cooking Peruvian cuisine and shared this love of her culture with many people throughout her life. She loved making jewelry and used her talents to bring joy to others. She was an active member of the Roman Catholic community in Huntley.

Gladys will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and community.

Services for Gladys will be held at a later date.
