Gloria M. (McCollum) Christey

Gloria McCollum Christey, 75, of Lake in the Hills was born December 24, 1941 in Chicago. She passed away Saturday Sept 2, 2017 in Barrington.

Gloria was a light to so many and cherished her friends and family especially her AT&T group she vacationed with and loved dearly and her Bunco group of 50 years.  She was always doing for others, crafting, flower arranging, decorating and sewing projects for her friends and family.  She loved beading and did so for the area school district Christmas Shop days and loved to see the joy on the children's faces. Her joy was giving of her time and many talents God has given her. She was so proud of her shop Glory B (Gloria and Barb) Designs. In life she was led by her heart and loved the Lord.

She will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by her husband, Donald Christey; her children, Jim (Liz Griffiths) Christey, and Julie (Todd) Christey Romeiser; her grandchildren, Tyler and Keaton Romeiser, and Eric and Matthew Christey; her brother, Wayne (Carol) McCollum of Chesterfield, as well as her nieces and nephews Dan, Jeff, Joanne, Dale, Lisa, and David McCollum; her many great nieces and nephews; and her cousin, Dennis Stanley.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Wilma (nee Stanley) McCollum; and her dearest brother, Gary Stanley McCollum.

The family will receive guests from 3pm until time of funeral service at 8pm, Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. A procession will form at 10:30am, Friday, September 8, 2017 at the funeral home, proceeding Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove for committal prayers.
