Gloria Elder
October 1, 1945 — February 29, 2016
Gloria Elder, 70, of Crystal Lake, was born on October 1, 1945 in Chicago to Adolph and Violet (nee Marx) Eckstrom. She passed away Monday, February 29, 2016 at her residence in Crystal Lake.
Gloria was a Lutheran School teacher for over 25 years. Afterwards, she worked at the Bloomingdale Public Library as a book deliverer. She also worked at Autumn Leaves after her retirement as an activities coordinator. Gloria loved to walk, travel, read and was a very active member of her church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Gloria is survived by her sons, Rhett Elder and Scott (Jennifer) Elder; and her grandchildren, Taylor, Payton, and Griffin.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Elder.
The family will be receiving guests from 10am until time of memorial service at 11am, Friday, March 4, 2016 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 932 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Union Cemetery in Crystal Lake.
