Gloria W. Mohan

Gloria Mohan, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at her home in Carmel, IN. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Mohan, who passed away in 2015; they shared 68 wonderful years together. Gloria is survived by her son, Paul Mohan; grandchildren, Kasey Mohan, Asa and David Adinarayan, Michael Milivojevic, and Lana Lewis ; and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Milivojevic.

Gloria was born in 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts and received her Associates degree at Boston University. At about this time she met William, her husband to be, at a local YMCA dance. Soon after they married, they headed west and set up home in Prospect Heights, Illinois where they lovingly raised their two children in a fondly remembered cozy white cape cod. As their children grew towards middle school, the family moved to Barrington Hills, where Gloria and Bill enjoyed the next fifty years in the countryside of that area. In 2014, they made Carmel, Indiana their residence to be close to daughter Donna and their grandchildren.

Those who knew Gloria shared her light and caring heart and her enthusiasm for greenhouse gardening, long nature walks and her joyful hosting of all manner of themed dinner gatherings. Her son and daughter were graced by her warmth, her devotion and her love that carries them through life and beyond.

A private graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington, IL on May 24.
