Goodmon Goodmonson

Goodmon “Bud” Goodmonson, 94, a longtime resident of Palatine, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, at JourneyCare Hospice, Barrington.
He was born May 18, 1920, in Bemidji, MN to the late Goodmon I. and Minna D. (nee Skrivseth) Goodmonson. Bud married Gloria M. Grummon on November 3, 1946.
Bud was proud of being a founding member of Countryside Center for People with Disabilities in Palatine, “The Pumpkin Man,” and most of all his family.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Gloria; daughter, Gail (William) Douglas of Palatine; grandchildren, Daniel and Shannon Douglas of Palatine; sister, Dorothy Kehl of Alaska; and countless nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his son, Gregory, in 2005; his parents; and seven brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 14, at the Douglas home. If you don’t know where the Douglas home is located, it is next to the Goodmonson home. If you don’t know where the Goodmonson home is located, it is next to the Douglas home.
Interment will be private in St. Paul Cemetery, Barrington.
