Gordon Paxson

Cary, Illinois,GORDON "GORDY" O. PAXSON Gordon "Gordy" O. Paxson, 95 of Cary, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Centegra Hospital in McHenry, Illinois. Gordy was born on February 25, 1915 to the late Oliver and Bertha (Simpson) Paxson in St. Charles, Illinois. He served in the US Army during WWII and received multiple military medals and later retired as a milkman from Willow Farms Dairy Company. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed bowling and hanging out with his friends at Crystal Bowl in Crystal Lake. His survivors include his four children, Vaughn (Ann), Reid (Diane), Connie Cooper, and Mark (Marilyn); 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; his two sisters, Jean Griggs and Virginia Paxson; his best friend, Dennis Mroz; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife, Patricia; his brothers Harry, Oliver, Robert, Charles, Ralph and Lee; and his sister Constance. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, August 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd, Elwood IL 60421, 815-423-9958.
