Grace Ellen Jackson Chamberlain, 93, of Marengo died peacefully on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 in Crystal Lake.
She was born January 26, 1919 at home on the family farm to Neil D. Jackson and Grace Ella Morehead Jackson.
On March 20, 1940 in Epworth, Iowa she married Raymond D. Chamberlain. She was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
In addition to her family, she loved to do needlework, including, crocheting and sewing. She also enjoyed crafting and collecting recipes. She was a member of the Marengo United Methodist Church, Ruth Circle and the Senior Citizens Group.
She is survived by her children, Darlene Pfaffinger, Grace Ann Bigalke and Roger (Randi) Chamberlain; her grandchildren, James (Karen) Pfaffinger, Sarah Czplanski, Amy (Greg) Cook and Jasen Chamberlain; her great grandchildren, Joe Pfaffinger, Kyle Pfaffinger, Kendal Czplanski, Ryan Cook, Ben Cook, Hunter Chamberlain and Conner Chamberlain; brother Darwin (Audrey) N. Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald, Nathan and Lawrence Jackson; sisters, Wilma Tanner and Marilyn Jeffers; her husband Ray Chamberlain; granddaughter, Tammy Chamberlain; and her son-in-law Peter Joseph Bigalke.
Memorial visitation will be held at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 1.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, "Love Project", 412 Jackson Street, Marengo, IL 60152.
