LUPITA RODRIGUEZ
Lupita Rodriguez was born May 28, 2000 in Houston, Texas. Her first five years, she was raised in Mexico and then was brought to the United States to live in Park City, Illinois. She traveled back and forth to Mexico.
At the age of 9, in Mexico, she started getting ill and was diagnosed with CF (Cystic Fibrosis). As time passed on, she worsened and was in and out of hospitals for 3 years. Doctors told us to decide to either stay in Mexico or return to the United States. At this time she learned to value life, people and be independent in taking for herself medically. We took the decision to return to the United States. From then on, she was in the hospital every 2 weeks. She would say that the hospital was her second home and renamed the hospital “The House on the Lake” because the doctors and nurses were her family and made her feel that way.
She was a persistent and fun girl to be around. Even though she was sick, she never said no and she never gave up her fight against CF.
She was always a brave warrior.
