Harold Waldemar Bruch, 95 of Barrington, IL and formerly of Ottumwa, IA, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 22, 2022. He was born July 18, 1927 in Fairbank, IA to Frank and Amanda Bruch.
Harold was a graduate of Ottumwa High School in Ottumwa, IA. He enlisted in the Navy and served until the end of the war. He worked as a switchman for the Milwaukee Railroad for 35 years and was a founding member of the Ottumwa Railroad Employees Credit Union. He served as the manager of the Credit Union and also managed the Jefferson Square Medical Building until his retirement. He was actively involved at Trinity Lutheran Church and had a passion for Ford Edsels, of which he owned two.
Harold is preceded in death by his wife Betty of 73 years, his parents, daughter Ruth, son Thomas and 11 siblings. He is survived by Katherine (Terry) Martinson, sons Christopher and Philip (Karen) Bruch and daughter-in-laws Nancy Bruch and Terri Bruch. Also, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
