Algonquin, Illinois,HAROLD EDWARD ROSS Harold Edward Ross, 89, of Algonquin passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at home in Algonquin. He was born September 6, 1920 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to the late James and Rosa Ross. He was a flight lieutenant with the RCAF and RAF with the ferry command of fighter plans during WWII. After serving in WWII with the RAF and RCAF, he began his career in sales with the Pitney Bowes Co. He met his wife on his first sales call in Calgary Alberta and were married a year later. He worked in the drafting sales division for Dietzcan Canada, Océ Elliot Inc, Arkwright International from which he retired in 1982. He loved to play golf and tennis in his retirement and shared his passion for tennis by teaching tennis to other seniors while living in Mesa, Arizona for several years. His survivors include his children Tim Ross of Algonquin and Mary Lou Molony (Tim) of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren Heather (Keith) Lindgren, Sean Molony, and Greg Molony, all of Denver; and brothers Gordon Ross and Stuart Ross, both of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife of 59 years, Kathleen Ross. A gathering of friends and family will be held at 7pm, Wednesday, August 4 at the home of the neighbors, the Schwegels at 690 Oceola Dr, Algonquin IL. The family asks that any donations be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
