Harriett L. Schlenkert, 94, of Woodstock, formerly of Crystal Lake and Harvard, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Tuesday, December 9, 2014.
She was born June 15, 1920 in Oak Park, IL to Arthur and Lillian Deerhing. Harriett worked as a dental assistant for ten years before working with her husband, Arthur, at Sargent & Lundy Engineers for sixteen years. After her retirement, she worked in sales again with her husband at Oak Brook Estates.
Harriett is survived by her two children, Linda (Rocco) Rubolino and William (Mary) Schlenkert; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and brother, Richard Deerhing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur B. Schlenkert; brother, Arthur W. Deerhing; and sister, Dorothy Meltz.
The visitation will be held Saturday, December 13 from 9:00 a.m. until 12 Noon at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake. Procession will follow to Windridge Memorial Park for entombment.
