Helen Beckwith

Born November 14, 1919 in Chicago, passed away peacefully September 20, 2013 in Barrington, surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was the most tenured volunteer at the Ela Township Library. She was a member of the Long Grove-Kildeer Garden Club, the Flower Ministry Coordinator at Barrington United Methodist Church, and an avid bridge player. Helen was a proud graduate of Carl Schurz High School and the University of Illinois. She was passionate about many things, especially her dogs, the Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks, and spending time with her family and many dear friends.

Helen is survived by her children; Sherrill (Keith) Snyder, and Thomas (Jo) Beckwith, and grandchildren; Matthew (Simona), and Laura Snyder, and Andrew and Daniel Beckwith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Frank (1987), son F. Richard (1991), brother Dick Johnson, and parents Harold R. and Mabel Johnson.

Visitation will be 9:30am until the time of the funeral service at 11am, Tuesday, September 24 at the Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Road, Barrington IL. Burial at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
