Barrington, Illinois,A prayer service for Helen Mae Mathew, nee Morden, 85, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington. Pastor Randy Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Born September 30 1924 in Cedar County, IA, she passed away Tuesday, September 21 in Barrington. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. A resident of Barrington for 45 years, Mrs. Mathew loved to dance and tell jokes, and spent time babysitting neighborhood children. Survivors include a sister, Dutch Rupe, and her dear friends and neighbors of the Kaspar and Clements families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, parents Wilbur and Daisy (nee Thede) Morden, her sister Florence Lightfoot, and her twin brother, Harold Morden.
