Helmut Rauchleitner

Helmut Rauchleitner, 81, of Crystal Lake passed away on June 5, 2019 after a courageous fight at JourneyCare Hospice in Woodstock. He was born on July 5, 1937, in Austria to Johann and Theresia (nee Schoengrundner) Rauchleitner.  Helmut was married to his loving wife of 33 years, Theresia Rauchleitner who preceded him in death.

Helmut was the Vice President of the Steirer Club of Chicago for over 30 years. He was a hard worker and always willing to help someone in need.  In his younger years he loved to ride horses and fish. He was also an avid bowler, ice curler and card player.

He will be deeply missed by his loving children, Monika (Jon) Follman and Helmut (Michelle) Rauchleitner; grandchildren, Ava Rauchleitner, Peter (Wendi), Christian (Samantha) and Andrew Barth, Joshua, Natasha and Zoe Follman; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Annabelle, Riley and Camden; and siblings, Ernestine Haller, Herbert (Rosie) Rauchleitner, Steffi Schinnerl and Erich Rauchleitner.  He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews here in the states as well as abroad.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by, his parents; and his brother, Hans Rauchleitner.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 6, 2019, from 10:00am until the time of his Memorial Service at 1:00pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL, 60014. Interment will be held privately.
