Honorable Joseph W. Mioduski,93, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2012.

He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 7,1918, to Adam and Emily Mioduski.

Joseph and Dorothy were married in 1943 and spent 68 loving years together.  He graduated from John Marshall Law School and joined the U.S. Navy in 1943.  Joseph served  active duty during WWII as an Ensign and later Second In Command on the minesweeper YMS 355.  He joined the Judge Advocate General Corps Naval Reserves and retired as a Full Commander after completing almost 30 years of service to our country.

Joseph lived an honorable life of service.  Private practice of civil law,  Department of Welfare for the State of Illinois (8 years), Assistant State Attorney (4 years)  and finally as an Associate Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County (17 years.)  He retired from the bench in 1987, and was affectionately known as “The Judge” throughout his life.

He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. 

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (nee Pasierb); children, Donna (Richard) Sandberg of Tucson, AZ, Mary Ann (Joel) Greene of Algonquin, IL, Mark Mioduski of Falls Church, VA, grandsons Ryan and Eric Mioduski of Falls Church, VA; nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Angela, his parents, and brother, Chester Mioduski.

Visitation will be held from 4-7p.m., Thursday, January 26,2012, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 27,2012, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Barrington (corner of Franklin and Ela Streets), with a visitation held one hour before mass.

Burial will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the The Hospice Foundation of Northeastern Illinois with the designation to the hospice home fund, 405 Lake Zurich Rd. Barrington,"" IL 60010 or www.hospiceanswers.org.
