Entrepreneur, philanthropist, husband, dad, grandpa – and avid tennis player- these describe Chet Perry’s life. Born into the Philadelphia Quaker tradition, Chet graduated from the William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia and from Lake Forest College, Illinois.
He proudly served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army First Calvary during the Vietnam War Tet Offensive in 1967-1968. He was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor. After the war, Chet founded Itec Refining and Marketing Co. Ltd. A successful international company that originally specialized in oil refining. He later switched focus and is known as a legend in the then-emerging Ethanol industry for fuel, beverage and industrial uses.
Chet and his wife, Eve, have participated in many local activities, including the Riding Club of Barrington Hills. Chet is survived by his wife Eve Perry, his son and wife, London and Carrie Perry, his grandchildren London II and Siena, and his sister Atala Toy.
Chet was a resident of Barrington Hills, Illinois and had homes in North Conway, New Hampshire and Silent Waters Villa, Montego Bay, Jamaica, West Indies.
According to his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a private family memorial will be held. No flowers please. Cards will be appreciated and treasured.
