Iraida Classen-Barbosa

Iraida Classen-Barbosa, 87, of Wheeling, IL passed away on August 7, 2022. She was born on January 16, 1935 in Hormigueros, Puerto Rico to the late Rosendo Classen and Ramona Barbosa.

She loved to travel and was very active in the senior's group in Hormigueros, Puerto Rico. Also, she was very active in her parish and was a devoted Catholic. In her younger years, she loved to dance. But above all, she had a love of life.

She is survived by her two children, Jose Colon-Classen and Myrna Hardy (Colon-Classen); grandchildren, Jose (Tito), Leonel and Jocelyn Colon-Rodriguez,  Kathryn Risner (Hardy), and Ann Murphy (Hardy); along with many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jose A. Colon-Galiano.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 4 PM until the time of funeral service at 7:30 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Interment will be private.
