Irene Dorothy Davidson

Irene Dorothy Davidson, of Barrington, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the age of 79.
She was born March 2, 1938 to the late Olga and Adolf Schmidt. She was raised by her loving and wonderful mother, Olga, in Chicago.

Irene was a Guidance Counselor for Barrington High School for 30 years until her retirement in 1998. She brought generosity, love of wisdom and a no nonsense attitude to all that she did. She loved her grandchildren immensely and they loved her. She attended Lutheran Church of the Atonement and was also a volunteer at Willow Creek Community Church. Irene will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her loving husband, Lyle, she is survived by her children, Jill (Scott) Kasper of Elgin, Julie (Paul) Myers of Crystal Lake, and Joy Davidson (Gene Piraino) of St. Charles; and her beloved grandchildren, Joe Davidson, David and Ian Myers, and Jennifer and Payton Kasper.

The visitation will be held Thursday, September 14 from 4-8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W Main St (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington. The funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, September 15 at 10:00 a.m. with visiting beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Atonement, 909 E Main St., Barrington. Burial will follow at Ringwood Cemetery, Ringwood, IL.
