Irene Marie (Florek) Pietrzak

Irene Marie Pietrzak 88, of Palos Heights, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, August 10 after a four – year struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was born May 22, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Rose Florek.

Irene Florek was united in marriage with Frank Pietrzak on Saturday, August 1, 1953 at Saint Florian Church in Chicago, Illinois. They were married 39 wonderful years until Frank’s passing in July of 1992.

A loving and gentle mother, aunt and friend, Irene will be deeply missed by her children, Father Bernie Pietrzak, pastor of Saint Anne Catholic Community and Renee (Timothy) Watson of Chicago, Illinois, along with nieces and nephews.

Irene was very proud of her work as a cashier at Aniol’s Hardware Store in Chicago, where she worked for 40 years. She retired at the age of 80. Her hobbies included bingo, a good pinochle game and her daily soap operas.

Please join the family in one last good bye on Monday, August 16.    Visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian burial at 11 AM at Saint Anne Catholic Community, 120 Ela Street, Barrington.

Irene’s interment will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL later.

The funeral liturgy will be livestreamed at www.stannebarrington.org beginning at 11 AM on Monday.
