Isabelo A. Alegado

Isabelo Arosa Alegado, 76, of Lake Zurich passed away on October 6, 2018.  He was born in Lucban, Quezon in the Philippines.  He moved to the US in 1969 and then made Chicago his home.

In 1970 he met the love of his life, Milnor Loyola and they were married in 1971.  Isabelo worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 11 years.  After retiring, they moved to Las Vegas in 2004 then moved back to the Chicago area in 2016. He was an original member of the Lucban Association of Greater Chicago and the Midwest and served as President from 1989-1991.

Isabelo is a competitive card player and enjoyed playing Poker both with friends and in tournaments in Las Vegas.  He always enjoyed a strategic game of Chinese Mahjong which is similar to cards but uses tiles.  Most recently the card game of choice is friendly game of “31”. When not playing cards, Isabelo’s passion was fishing. Whether fishing with friends, on his own or with his grandkids, it was his way to relax and come home with a good catch for dinner.

Isabelo will be sadly missed by his wife, Milnor Alegado; children, Michelle Alegado Franada and her husband, Ferdie Franada, Sharon Alegado and Mark Jason Alegado; grandsons, Dylan and Rylan Franada; brothers Reynaldo Alegado and Nemesio Alegado; and family pets, Ryder, Sasha, and Zooey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bayani Alegado, Sr. and Vicenta Arosa Alegado; and brothers, Bayani Alegado, Jr. and Alfredo Alegado.

A visitation will be held from 3 pm until 8 pm with prayers at 6:30 pm on Saturday, October 13th, at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich.   Mass will be held Monday, October 15th, at 10:30 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church,135 S. Beusching Rd., Lake Zurich. Interment will be held privately at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
