His interests evolved over his lifetime to include SCUBA diving, tinkering with cars, model trains, numismatics, and military history. Ivor was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. After a career as a design engineer for the Schindler Elevator Corp., he was enjoying a peaceful retirement, primarily focused on being a lap for his dog Roxie.
A celebration of Ivor’s life will be held on Friday, October 21 from 4-8pm at the Davenport Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Animal House Shelter (animalhouseshelter.org) in Huntley, IL.
