Jack G. Jacobs, of Chicago, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2016. He was born on January 27, 1927 in Chicago to John and Doris “Myrtle” (nee Freudenthal) Jacobs.

Jack attended Lake View High School in Chicago where he was a member of the ROTC and was a drum major in the high school band. Jack was a proud veteran of the United States Army. After his service in the Army, Jack worked as a purchasing agent at UOP where he met Lorraine (nee Wiedman). They were united in marriage on September 10, 1955 in Chicago.
From 1967 until his retirement in the mid 1980's, Jack was the Director of Purchasing at Chemplex Corp. in Rolling Meadows. They raised their children in Mount Prospect and they attended St. Paul Lutheran Church. Jack and Lorraine celebrated 55 years of marriage until her death in 2010. He was an avid golfer and lifelong Cubs fan.

Jack will be deeply missed by his loving children, Jack R. Jacobs and Marilyn A. (David) Parro; grandchildren, Kathryn and Christie Parro. He was preceded in death by his wife, his brother, Robert and his parents.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 9, 2016, from 9 AM until the 11 AM funeral service at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010. Interment to follow at Huntley Cemetery, Huntley at 1 PM.
