The memorial service for Jack D. Kadey, 96, will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 24, at The Village Church of Barrington, 1600 E. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington. Pastor David Jones will officiate. Private burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
Born April 2, 1917, in Port Huron, MI, he passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington.
Jack was an Army Air Corps Major who served two tours of duty in WWII and dropped paratroopers behind enemy lines on D Day. Following his service, Jack flew for United Airlines for 32 years, ending his career as a DC10 Captain.
Survivors include his daughters, Joy Frederick of Barrington and Jacqui (Jon) Jefferies of Elk Grove Village; grandchildren, Lt. Commander Joseph (Tonya) Frederick of Anacortes, WA, Lindsey (Richard Jr.) Minick of Mahomet, IL, and Steve Frederick of Palatine and Ashley Jefferies of Brea, CA and Alyssa Jefferies of Elk Grove Village; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jillyan, and Joseph Frederick II of Anacortes and Lauren, Marin and Campbell Minick of Mahomet; and siblings, Betty Bihl of Long Beach, CA and Joan Ballard of Charlotte, NC.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Martha (nee Pendell) in 1993.
