Jack P. McCarthy

John P. “Jack” McCarthy, 75, of Cary, was born July 24, 1943 in Chicago to Patrick and Elizabeth (nee Geary) McCarthy. He passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 in Barrington.

Jack was a proud veteran of the Army and a retired Chicago police officer.

Jack is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cindy A. (nee Kus) McCarthy; his daughters, Kelly (Paul) Dzierzanowski, Shannon (Brian) Bannon, and Jacklyn (Oscar) Ortega; his grandchildren, Max, Marlaina, and Alex Dzierzanowski, Delaney Bannon, and Matthew, Mikey, and Madilyn Ortega; his nieces, Erin Altobella, and Cheryl (Tom) Goetsch; and his nephew, Patrick (Sarah) Leever. He will be missed by his buddy, Rudy.

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Patsy (Ron) Leever, and Betty (Nick) Brandinisio; and his parents.

The family will receive guests from 4-9pm, Friday, December 14, 2018 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:15am, Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the funeral home, proceeding to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 410 N. 1st St., Cary for Mass at 10am. Interment private.
