Jack Edward McIntyre, of Crystal Lake, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the age of 73.
He was born January 18, 1945, the son of the late William and Priscilla (nee Demotigny) McIntyre.
Jack led a life of service to others through many organizations. He was enlisted in the US Navy, serving in the Vietnam War on the USS Yorktown. Jack was a past president of the Crystal Lake Rotary Club, president of the VFW Post 12014 in Crystal Lake, and president of Helping Paws Association. He was an agent with American Family Insurance, retiring after 42 years.
Jack will be remembered for his heart; offering service above self.
A loving husband, father and grandpa, Jack loved telling stories and spending time with his family.
Jack is survived by his wife, Rosemary (nee Hudec); his children, Candice McIntyre and Timothy (Jessica) McIntyre; his granddaughter, Abigail; and his many nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Joseph McIntyre.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 27, from 3-9 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake. Interment will be private.
