Jack Edward Ward, 90, of Crystal Lake passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016. He was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada on November 1, 1925 to William Lewis and Edith (nee Brown) Ward.
Jack was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps serving his country in WWII. On July 3, 1948 he married the love of his life, Virginia (nee Nowicki) in Chicago. Together they loved dancing, traveling, and just being together sharing their love for their family.
Besides his wife, Virginia, Jack will be sadly missed by his children, Sharon (Bob) Meyer, Dan (Yvonne) Ward, and Dave (Sue) Ward; grandchildren, Tricia (Steve) Cerio, Eric (Megan) Meyer, Kelly (Kris) Murray, Kari (Chad) Labucki, and Kristin(Bryan) Brzycki; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Matthew, Logan, Jack, Katelyn, Konnor, and Declan. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank and Dorothy.
Mass will be Tuesday, September 13, at 11:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 405 W Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake with a visitation starting at 9:30am at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
