Jacob Martin Czipo, 20, of Crystal Lake died unexpectedly at home on May 18, 2017. He was born February 14, 1997 in Hoffman Estates to Michael and Rachel (nee Martin) Czipo.
Jake grew up in Crystal Lake graduating from South High School in 2015 and attended McHenry County College. At the age of 14 he started working as an umpire and then found his love for lifeguarding at Centegra Healthbridge and Crystal Lake Park District at Main and West Beaches. He proudly saved the lives of three people.
Jake is survived by his parents; little brother, Joshua Czipo; grandmother, Barbara Czipo; grandfather, Clifford J. Martin; aunts, Lynn Salrin, Julie Fraser, and Janet Czipo; uncles, Tom Czipo and Mike Frazer; cousins, Kelly, Holly, Cole, Lexi, Lisa, Karen, and Kristi; and great-cousin, Greyson Boss. He is also survived by his best friend and little girl, Joey, his beloved dog.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Arthur S. Czipo Sr.; maternal grandmother, Faith L. Martin; and Uncle, Arthur S. Czipo, Jr.
Jake could melt the hearts of everyone with his gentle smile and infectious personality. He loved being with his friends and would drop everything to help others in need. Jake had a passion for art, fishing, movies, and social media.
With Jake’s passing we must remind ourselves and others that life is one to be celebrated. We will always love and miss you, Jakie. You will remain in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 3 PM until 8 PM with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake.
