James M. Allare, 69, of Crystal Lake passed away at home from Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) on Friday, March 4, 2022. He was born in Evanston on May 23, 1952, to the late Robert and Nancy Allare. He grew up in Des Plaines and Arlington Heights and met some of his lifelong friends in the Ivy Hill neighborhood.
Jim will be missed by his wife of 40 years, Patricia (Berner); children, Rob (Wendi) of Wauconda and Mike (Jackie) of Fairview Heights; grandchildren, Dane, Brandon, and Jake; siblings, Patty (John) Hefferan, Jean (Jim) Lemmon; brothers-in-law, Paul (Yvonne Monreal-Berner) and James Berner; and devoted sister-in-law, Martty Berner, who was also his caregiver. Jim is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He loved building things, from model trains to single family homes. Jim could fix anything.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, from 4pm until 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake. A visitation will continue Saturday morning, March 19, from 10am until a service at 11am at the funeral home.
