James Brian Alther, 61, passed away Friday, April 18th, 2014. Jim was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Genevieve Piotrowski and Raymond Alther. Jim served as Deacon for Calvary Chapel Cardunal in Algonquin faithfully for the past 17 years. He loved his brothers and sisters in Christ and considered serving them an honor. His relationship & love for the Lord Jesus was clearly seen and felt in all he did.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Barbara, his most beloved daughter Amanda and her husband Alec Frankowski. He thanked the Lord daily for bringing this incredible man into her (and our) lives. His brothers, Raymond (Joannie)Alther, Marty (Lynn) Alther, Robert (Cindy) Rhodes , Bill(Jeannie)Rhodes. Sisters Beverly (Bob) Hemminghous, Theresa (Gary) Foerster, Judy Rhodes and many most beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Senior Care Volunteer Network of McHenry County in Crystal Lake, Illinois an organization Jim was very proud to be a part of as their office coordinator.
Jim was cremated as per his wishes.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26th at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel Cardunal, 2301 Boyer Road, Algonquin, Illinois.
