James Edward Bonham
The visitation and services for James will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W Main St (Lake-Cook Rd) Barrington, IL 60010. Funeral services will be held the following day, Friday, September 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 720 Dundee Ave in Barrington, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
James was born January 9, 1918 in St. Louis, Missouri to Walter and Lena Bonham. James was a World War II veteran having served in the Marines as an officer and as a Naval Aviator in the South Pacific.
He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1939 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He was an innovator in the plastics industry and the founder of Quality Molding Company and Duraco Products. After 50 years in manufacturing, he retired in 1991, but remained active on a consulting basis.
James has been a member of St. Matthew Lutheran church since 1967.
James is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Erma Bonham; two loving daughters, Barbara (Marc) Bonham Munder, and Betsy (Trevor) Bonham Lewis; seven grandchildren, Lauren (Kevin) Munder O’Flaherty, Adam (Jacqueline) Munder, James (Carly) Munder, Madyn, Emily, Taft, and Lane Lewis; and great-granddaughter, Paige O’Flaherty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Bonham, and sister, Jane Bonham Brady.
