The Mass of Christian Burial for James “Jim” W. Edge,66, of Elgin, will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church, 820 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m., Friday, May 20,2011, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake.
Due to a family member’s asthmatic condition, please refrain from wearing perfumes or colognes.
Born January 13,1945, in Chicago, he passed away Wednesday, May 18,2011, at Lutheran General Hospital, Des Plaines.
Jim was co-owner of the Esco Institute in Mount Prospect, served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and enjoyed golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Geri (nee Duro) whom he married June 28,1969, at St. James Church; children, Dina (Rich) Zochowski and Daniel (Stacey) Edge; grandsons, Jason and Ryan Zochowski, to which he was a proud papa; sister, Marlene (Ron) Campbell; and many loving nieces, nephews, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Waller and Margaret (nee O’Connor) Edge; and sister, Gail Edge.
