Lake Barrington, Illinois,The Mass of Christian Burial for James J. Hajost, 90 of Barrington, formerly of Chicago, will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 21, at St. Anne Church, corner of Franklin and Ela Streets, Barrington, where he will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of the time of mass. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m., Monday, December 20 Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington. Born, Jan. 7, 1920 in Chicago, he passed away at his home. He was a union carpenter in Chicago. He was a 60 year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He was a member of St. Anne Church in Barrington. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and automotive mechanics. Survivors include his wife, Rita E. nee Thomas, whom he married at St. Theodore Parish in Chicago March 6, 1943, a daughter, Janice (Geoffrey) Kitz of Barrington, a son, Mark (Lori) Hajost of Greenwood, S.C., a grandson, Philip (Ann) Hajost, two great-grandchildren, Parker and Haley Hajost, a brother, Leonard (Rosemary) Hajost, sister-in-law, Leona Hajost, brother-in-law, John Wierschem, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hermine nee Harkabus, brother, Edward Hajost and sister, Lorraine Wierschem.
