Barrington, Illinois,The Mass of Christian Burial for James F. Hollister, 84, will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 4, at St. Anne Church, 120 Ela St. (at the corner of Franklin St.), Barrington, where he will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Father Fred Licciardi will officiate. Inurnment private in White Memorial Cemetery, Barrington. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington. Born March 23, 1925, in Barrington, he passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009, at his home. Mr. Hollister worked at the Catlow Theater in Barrington for 67 years as a projectionist. He was a volunteer fireman with the Barrington Fire Department for 32 years and a Village Trustee from 1965-1969. Mr. Hollister was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3954 and was an avid beekeeper for over 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Abigail (nee Cartland), whom he married April 29, 1967, at St. Anne Church; daughters, Elisabeth (Warren) Sandberg, Sarah (Mark) Eisen, and Julie (Jeffrey) Golden; nine grandchildren, James, Aiden, Molly, Liliana, Samuel, Emma, Paige, John, and Luke; and sister, Jeanette Dedmond. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Magdalena (nee Overhage); and siblings, Cecilia Landgraff, Irene Freund, Dora Brommelkamp, and Kenneth "Bud."
