James Johnson

James B. Johnson, 79, lifelong resident of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully at The Springs surrounded by his loving family on May 4, 2016. He was born on March 8, 1937 in Chicago to Bromwell and Vera (nee Carlson) Johnson.

James was a faithful member of Evangelical Free Church for 62 years and devotedly loved his Lord. James was a loyal employee of Kenmode Tool & Engineering for over 43 years. He loved Door County and Bethany Beach, where he enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

James will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Susan (nee Johnson); children, Daniel James (Cathy) Johnson, Dawn Marie (Marc) Abrams; grandchildren, Timothy, Matthew, Rebekah, Rachel and Sarah Johnson, Alexander and Jeremy Abrams, Joel and Joshua Barrett; great-granddaughter, Josephine Elise Barrett; son-in-law, Michael Barrett; brother-in-law, Robert Handley; many loving nieces, nephews and friends also survive. He will also be missed by his faithful canine companion, Beau. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jody Lynn Johnson, daughter, Lisa Sue Barrett; sister, Lois Handley and by his parents.

Visitation will be, Friday, May 6, from 5 until 8 PM and resume on Saturday, May 7, from 1 PM until the 2 PM funeral service at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Interment will be private.
