James McNally Jr

James “Jim” P. McNally Jr., 76, of the Village of Lakewood, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Centegra Hospital in McHenry.
He was born on October 10, 1935 to James P. Sr. and Della McNally in Chicago.
Jim graduated from St. Rita’s High School in Chicago, attended Southwestern College in Oklahoma City and finished his education at Oklahoma City University. Jim enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1953, where he trained to become an Air Traffic Controller. He married Barbara Polnaszek in Chicago on October 15, 1960.
In 1993, Jim was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Federal Aviation Administration. During his 43 years of service with the FAA, Jim was an Air Traffic Controller, an Air Traffic Control instructor, and was also in management, before retiring in 1994.
He enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and softball. Jim loved watching his favorite sports teams - the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears and Notre Dame Football games. Most of all he loved watching his grandchildren in all of their activities. Jim always enjoyed the entertainment of his two dogs, Panda and Gibbs. Even through his illness, he kept his sense of humor.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Linda (Jay) Wozniak, Sharon (fiancée Jay LeCoque) McNally, and James P. McNally III; grandchildren, Taylor Bevis, Lexie Bevis, Morgan, Megan and Jake Wozniak and Taylor McNally; and sister, Rita DeVito.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m., Friday, August 17 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. A second visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., August 18, at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Thomas Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014 for an 11:30 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection.
