JAMES B. “JIM” MULVIHILL
James B. “Jim” Mulvihill, 85, of Barrington passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2017. He was born in Chicago to James and Catherine (nee O’Sullivan) Mulvihill.
Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War. Jim was very active in the Barrington Memorial VFW Post 7706 and was a 4 time commander as well as a member of the American Legion Post 158. He was the division manager for Federal Express for many years. Jim was an usher at Saint Anne Catholic Community for many years. He was also known to be a master mechanic, woodworker and world traveler.
Jim will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 23 years, Doris (nee Hildreth); with whom he was united in marriage on February 13, 1994; his children, Cassandra (the late Ralph) Intagliata, Stephan (Margaret) and Phillip Burks; grandchildren, Nicole Intagliata; sister, Mary Ellen (the late Robert) Mulvihill-Toth; his brother-in-law, Rudy Gawenda. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Arla Mae; his parents; his brother Donald Mulvihill and his sister-in-law, Ida Mulvihill.
Visitation will be, Tuesday, November 21, from 9 AM until the Funeral Mass at 12 Noon at Saint Anne Catholic Community, 120 N. Ela St. (corner of Franklin and Ela Sts.), Barrington. Interment to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine.
