James Ryan

Crystal Lake, Illinois,JAMES E. RYAN James E. Ryan, 82, of Crystal Lake and formerly of Chicago, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010. Born on May 29, 1928 in Chicago, he was the son of the late John Joseph and Mary Agnes (nee Lawler) Ryan. On April 7, 1951, in Chicago, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Menard. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He also worked as a Chicago Police Officer for 33 years, retiring in 1987. James was an avid golfer, enjoyed Notre Dame football, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He is survived by his loving children, Cindy (John) Saliwanchik of Crystal Lake, Sandy Recchia of Crystal Lake, and Laura Ryan of Loves Park; 3 cherished grandchildren, Anthony and James Recchia and Clarissa Saliwanchik; a dear sister-in-law Beverly Ondriezek; and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife, Dorothy, his son-in-law Tony Recchia, his sister Mary Ann Ryan, and his brother John Ryan. The memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, November 21 at 12 Noon at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rte 176) with a memorial service at 3 pm. Interment will be private at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
