Biography

James "Jim" Patrick Zito, 60, of Pilot Point, TX passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in Dallas, TX after a valiant battle with cancer. Jim was born November 6, 1955 in Elgin, IL to John F. Zito and Margaret (Hogan) Zito.

Jim and his wife Lynn were married for 30 years. Jim's career spanned 28 years with Peterbilt Motors Company where he held numerous positions sharing his passion for the company and the products he proudly represented. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who loved the mountains, the sea and everything in between. He enjoyed skiing, boating, fishing and cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Chicago Cubs, Bears & Blackhawks. Jim loved his horses, dogs, cows and working around his ranch as well as restoring classic cars and all things automotive.

Jim will be deeply and forever missed by his loving wife, Lynn; parents, John and Margaret of Sister Bay, WI; son William Zito of Kuwait; two daughters, Jennifer Zito of Chicago, IL and Jilliane Zito and husband Charles Whitwam, of Pacifica, CA; grandson, Nehemiah James Whitwam of Pacifica, CA; four brothers, Hugh and wife Linda Zito of Honolulu, HI; Kevin and wife Tamara Zito of Sister Bay, WI; Steve and wife Cathy Zito of Spring, TX; and Mark Zito of Vail, CO; one sister, Cathy and husband Tom Vincus of Crystal Lake, IL.; his numerous nieces and nephews; extended family, friends and business colleagues, along with his many furry, four-legged family members.

Memorial Mass will be Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela St. (Corner of Franklin and Ela Sts.), Barrington, IL 60010. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network, www.bcan.org.
