Jane P. Hasler, of Barrington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the age of 93.
She was born in Evanston, IL on July 27, 1921 to Jurgen and Dorothy Petersen. Jane was married during WWII to Robert McDowell Sr. and raised three children together; David Alden, Robert Jr., and Susan Jane (Michael) King. Robert Sr. passed away in 1950, and Jane would remarry in 1963 to Edward Hasler, who passed away in 1965.
For many years Jane was an interior designer and was part-owner alongside her brother, Art Petersen Sr., and nephew, Art Petersen Jr., of Petersen Interiors in Buffalo Grove. She would retire in 1992 at the age of 70.
In addition to her children David Alden, Susan Jane King, and son-in-law, Mike King, Jane is survived by her grandchildren, Allison and Lizzie King, and many fond nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her family and many friends at Alden Estates of Barrington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert Sr., and son, Robert Jr.; second husband, Edward Hasler; brothers, Arthur (June) Petersen Sr., and Jurgen (Lynn) Petersen Jr.; sister, Margaret (George) Craine; sister-in-law, Beth (Lee) Gallaher; and brother-in-law, Sam McDowell Jr.
A Memorial Mass for Jane will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela St., Barrington, IL 60010.
