Janet Irene (Smith) Gardner

Janet Irene Gardner, 99, of Barrington, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2019. She was born on January 27, 1920 in Buffalo, New York to Norman and Jessie Smith.

Janet was a proud member of United Church Women. She was also a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Venice, FL and Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Lexington, KY.

Janet was a cherished mom, grandma and great-grandma and will be deeply missed by her children, Dr. William P. Bischoff of Lexington, KY and Nancy L. Boesenberg-Harstad of Palatine, IL; grandchildren, Andrew W. (Michelle) Bischoff, Dr. Matthew (Dr. Jennifer Matousek) Bischoff, Kimberly (Richard) Rees, Melissa (Steven) Schneider; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Earl and Benjamin L. Schneider, Caroline L. and Morgan W. Rees, William C., Abbey R., Anna and Ella Bischoff.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William C. Bischoff, Clarence J. Zander and Harry B. Gardner; and by her parents.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 11 AM at Hope Lutheran Church, 1660 Checker Rd., Long Grove, IL. There will be a visitation at the church starting an hour prior to the service. Private family burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
