Janet Claire (Rinkle) Ljunggren

Janet Claire Ljunggren, 85, of Crystal Lake passed away on December 9, 2023.  She was born on February 25, 1938, to Celeste Marie Michaelis and John Rinkle in Chicago.

Janet was a loving wife to Sven (Gus), a dedicated mother to four children, Eric, Theresa Malott, Karen Pfaffinger (Jim), Curt (Kristi); a cherished grandmother to Melissa, Wesley, Shannon, Heather, Jimmy, Chad, Caitlin, Haley, Joe Gunnar, Kyle, Caleb, Lauren, Madison, and a beloved great-grandmother to ten.

Janet was always involved with her family, friends, church, women’s prison ministry, Girl Scouts, and CL food pantry. Her warm and inviting personality made her gatherings memorable. In her free time, she enjoyed pursuing her hobbies as an excellent cook, artist, and seamstress.

She attended Maine Township High School and later became a dedicated housewife. Janet finished her career at UPS before retiring to Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, John (Jack) and David Rinkle.

Janet is survived by her husband, Sven.

A memorial visitation for Janet will be held on Wednesday, December 27, from 11am until a service at 12noon at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake.

Janet will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warm smile, hugs and generous spirit will forever be remembered.
