Janice Menconi

Barrington, Illinois,A Mass of Christian Burial for Janice M. Menconi (nee Pipenhagen), 50 of Barrington for the past 15 years, formerly of Downers Grove, will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, at St. Anne Church (corner of Ela and Franklin), Barrington, where she will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W Main St., Barrington. Born March 9, 1960 in Park Ridge, she passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Nov. 1, 2010 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, after a courageous battle with cancer. Janice grew up in Roselle and graduated from Lake Park High School as valedictorian of her class. Jan graduated with honors from the University of Illinois, College of Business with a BS in Finance in 1982, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She worked as a Commercial Banker at Northern Trust in downtown Chicago from 1982-1995. She rejoined Northern Trust, Barrington office in 2004, where she worked in private banking. She served on various committees for Hospice of Northeastern Illinois and was a devoted Roslyn Road Room Mom and Broncos Cheer Mom. She was a member of Medinah Country Club where she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Jan loved gardening, cooking, baking, outdoor sports, walking with her dog, and snuggling with her beautiful girls while watching TV. She will be missed terribly but remembered always through memories. Survivors include her husband, Frank D. Menconi, whom she married, Sept 4, 1982 in Hinsdale; daughters, Christina and Olivia Menconi; her mother, Virginia "Ginny" Pipenhagen (nee Wheeler); a sister, Susan (Jeff) Faje; niece, Kayla Faje; nephew, Garrett Faje; aunt, Dottie (Milt) Young; and uncle, George Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Pipenhagen. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Menconi Children?s Education Fund c/o Northern Trust Bank, 770 West Northwest Highway, Barrington, IL 60010.
